Over the years I have had so many people ask about learning to stain furniture. Well, I have finally put together a course to teach both refinishing and painting furniture. I am very happy to finally be able to share my expertise and knowledge to help others restyle their furniture keeping it out of the landfill.
It is a 3 day course over 3 weeks. Each day is comprised of approximately 3.5 hours of hands-on learning and will be labour intensive. You will need to provide a small side / occasional table to refinish and paint. The table should comprise of a simple design of solid wood, flat top and four legs that doesn’t exceed W 18” x D 18”. Please no cabinets or shelves. See examples of suggested styles of side tables in the photos. Email photos and measurements for approval to info@redwindstudio.ca asap.
Day 1 Clean, sand & strip table
Day 2 Sand top, stain and paint base of table
Day 3 Apply Clear top coat, finish painting if necessary and wax base
**If you are sensitive to chemical fumes and odors this is not a class you should attend. We will be using chemical stripper, mineral spirits and oil-based stains that all have strong odors.
All protective gear will be provided. Rubber gloves, safety glasses and masks.
All supplies will be provided. You will be using FAT Paint and General Finishes products to complete your project.
Class size is limited to 4 participants.

Class begins at 5:30 pm Please arrive in time to start at 5:30 as we will have lots to complete each evening.

If for any reason the Government places restrictions again due the pandemic the course will be rescheduled. No refunds will be provided.
